MARKHAM MUN

I am Arantza De La Torre and I am in 5B.  I’ve been in MUN since the end of 2018, when I was 13 until now. I have attended several conferences in the country and even a few abroad. Throughout these conferences, I have been given the opportunity to explore topics of interest, meet new people from different backgrounds and develop personal skills. For me, MUN represents the power and confidence all students should acquire. I strongly believe that exposure to world-relevant issues is crucial for students to develop their academic curiosity, communication and problem-solving abilities. 

I am Adrian Lopez-Torres and I am in 5B. I joined MUN not too long ago but quickly became aware of all of the opportunities it offers. Having attended several conferences now, I know the abilities developed by delegates in MUN are priceless. Negotiation, public speaking and leadership are skills that develop in MUN but go far beyond the limits of a conference. This set of skills, mixed with the increased awareness and general knowledge one attains, are what make MUN so valuable to me.

I am Juana Shimamoto, and I am currently in my first year of IB.  I have been participating in debates since the start of the pandemic and I am beyond grateful for finding such a complete activity. From improving my public speaking skill to becoming an aware global citizen, MUN gave me the chance to meet wonderful people and learn from unique experiences during conferences. I hope that Markham MUN  provides all debaters a fun space to explore and develop their debating competencies.
